Five havanera groups on the sand at Tamariu, a cremat of burnt rum handed round, and the end of the singing season on this stretch of the Costa Brava.
What it is
The 30th Cantada d'Havaneres de Tamariu is on Saturday 5 September 2026 at 19:00, on Tamariu beach. Havaneres are the songs Catalan sailors brought back from Cuba; they are sung outdoors, at the water, and drunk to with cremat — rum burned with sugar, lemon peel and coffee beans.
Five local groups sing this year: Àmfora, Arjau, Els Cremats, Peix Fregit and Port Bo. Lluís Poch presents. Free.
The rest of the day
A craft market runs all day along the Passeig del Mar, and from 19:00 the Associació de Veïns i Amics de Tamariu hands out the cremat.
This is the last cantada of the season in the municipality — Calella's, the best known on the coast, is held at the start of July.
Getting there
Tamariu is the smallest of Palafrugell's three coves, about 5 km from the town, and its parking is very limited; in early September the sensible approach is the bus or the camí de ronda.
